Marvel Already Has Plans For Two New Thor: Ragnarok Characters Beyond The Movie

Thor: Ragnarok

Odin returns in the latest TV spot.

Meanwhile, Tessa Thompson spoke to The Independent about developing Valkyrie into the Han Solo of the MCU.

It was quite collaborative but [Taika] and I got on from the minute we met each other. He pitched Valkyrie as sort of the Han Solo over the movie and so I sort of knew the space that she wanted to occupy, and we wanted to subvert any sort of cliches in our portrayal of her. I say “ours” because he was really integral to that.

Lastly, Kevin Fiege revealed to Fandango that Marvel has future plans for its breakout characters: The rock man Korg, played by Taika Waititi in the movie, and his cockroach-like partner, Miek.

We have plans for Korg and Miek. When and where we’ll have to wait and see, but we, like the audience now that they have seen them, can’t get enough.

Jurassic World 2

Jeff Goldblum spoke to the Radio Times about his long-awaited return as Dr Ian Malcolm in the Jeff Goldblummiest manner possible:

Ian Malcolm, yes, might be back in this one, and he might have something to say about the current confluence of circumstances around the use and misuse of technology. With some wry irony, deep wise passionate conviction, and he might put on a nice dark bit of clothing here and there … and a tinted glass, maybe.

Power Rangers

Saban has confirmed that it has abandoned the trademark for the logo associated with this year’s movie reboot – which might indicate the company is looking for a new logo to trademark, or they don’t need it any more and those six sequels Lionsgate dreamed of are probably done for. Dora the Explorer

Micheal Bay’s Platinum Dunes is producing a live-action Dora the Explorer movie from writer Nick Stoller (The Muppets) at Paramount. The movie is set after the events of the animated series, and will concern a now-teenage Dora moving in with her cousin, Diego. [THR]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

In a character description, the movie’s official Japanese website says both the Resistance and First Order are worried about Poe Dameron’s overwhelming commitment to the new war facing the galaxy.

Now that the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance has escalated into total war, Poe is shining as a leader of a courageous flying battalion. But while he is brave and a skilled pilot, both the First Order and the Resistance alike are starting to fear his dedication to the war effort.

Captain Marvel/Avengers 4

Speaking with Indie Wire, Kevin Feige revealed Carol Danvers will play a major role in the finale of the MCU as we know it.

There are a lot of discussions, they all focus on the post-Phase Three, ‘Avengers’ 4 film, so nothing that we’ll get into publicly. We’re really focusing on ‘Captain Marvel’ and the work that Anna and Ryan are doing. It’s going to be a big part of heading towards this epic conclusion and epic finale of 22 movies over the course of 10 years. That is focus for the next six movies we have to finish and get out.

Really, the focus now is on delivering ‘Captain Marvel’ and then bringing Captain Marvel’s story into the finale of everything we’ve started thus far.

The Incredible Hulk 2

In the same interview with Indie Wire, Kevin Feige once again confirmed a solo Hulk movie is unlikely.

I think that back and forth continues, and I don’t know if it will ever happen. But I will tell you, it makes me very, very happy going from a world, ten years ago, when people were questioning the viability of Hulk in a standalone film, to getting asked every other interview, ‘When will there be another standalone Hulk?

Pacific Rim: Uprising

Steven S. DeKnight stated the film runs “right around two hours” in an interview with Collider, so begin preparing yourself accordingly.

It’s resting right around two hours. I always shoot for two hours. If I was doing Lawrence of Arabia it would be a little longer, but otherwise I think the two-hour mark — this is just for me as somebody that loves movies and watches movies, two hours is always right around the sweet spot. If it’s much less than two hours then I start to get a little suspicious, if it’s much more longer sometimes a movie will support that but sometimes you just get a little worn out.

Justice League

Even if Aquaman Week and Flash Week were ultimately busts, this time its Wonder Woman and Cyborg Week, at once. Madness!

Arrow

TV Line reports Charlotte Ross is slated to return as Felicity’s mum, Donna Smoak.

Untitled Superhero Family Comedy

ABC is developing a series from Larry Wilmore and Bassem Youssef about a Middle-Eastern family of superheroes targeted by the police for vigilantism. Speaking with Deadline, Wilmore stated:

At its heart, it is a family show about assimilation and the difficulties and the problems and the conflicts with assimilation. There are so many issues immigrant families face becoming Americans To combine this with a fantasy adventure show seemed like an interesting approach to a family show.

There won’t be a President Trump. Even through it would be America, it won’t be this version of America, it won’t be a political show in this sense, it will be in its own world.

Zoo

Regrettably, Zoo has been canceled at CBS after three seasons. Alas, poor invisible snake, we hardly knew ye. [THR]

The Punisher

The show’s Twitter account has a few new images from the show.
