Video: Keanu Reeves has done a bunch of science fiction movies in his career. Some are all-timers, such as The Matrix and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Others really stink, such as Johnny Mnemonic and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Now he’s back in that familiar genre with Replicas, and it feels like he might just have another one for the good column.

The film won’t be out until some time in 2018, but the first trailer just debuted at New York Comic Con. And while it starts a little too normal, things quickly take a really cool twist. Check it out.
There’s a lot going on in the trailer, not all of which makes sense. But the basic idea that Reeves’ character has cloned his family after they died is just stellar. I almost wish that was it, and maybe it is. We’ll have to wait until next year to find out though.
Replicas was directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff.
