Ben Affleck Describing Henry Cavill’s Justice League Moustache Just Makes Us Want It In The Movie Even More

The most exciting thing about Justice League will be getting to see some of DC’s mightiest heroes together on the big screen. The second most exciting thing? Watching it and trying not to imagine what every scene with Superman would have looked like if the filmmakers hadn’t edited out the moustache Henry Cavill sported in reshoots.

For those who have not been following along with the Justice League reshoots, Henry Cavill had to return to action as the Man of Steel when reshoots began while still sporting the delightful moustache he’d grown — and been contractually obliged to keep — for his next gig in the new Mission Impossible movie. While Warner Bros. will digitally shave Cavill clean for the film, honestly, we’d love to see footage of Superman being the big hero… while sporting an uncharacteristically bushy ‘stache to boot.

It doesn’t help that the rest of the cast now keeps dishing on what it was like to work with the Moustache of Tomorrow during the reshoots, and making it sound as hilarious as we’d imagined it to be. Case in point, here’s Ben Affleck talking to Empire Magazine today about his own reaction to Cavill’s facial hair:

It was a full-on porn-star moustache. He looked like a porn star from the ’70s, just with a better body. It’s a different twist [on Superman].

Tell me you don’t want to see that in action this November, and good reader, I will call you a liar. Come on, Warner Bros. — sure, edit it out of Justice League, but there has to be some footage saved for the behind-the-scenes featurettes and whatnot. Moustaches scientifically improved Batman v Superman. I don’t see a reason why they wouldn’t do the same for Justice League.
