Watch Elizabeth Shaw Return In A Short Film Linking Prometheus And Alien: Covenant

Video: What happened after Prometheus? How does that lead into Alien: Covenant? We won’t know for sure until the new film opens on May 11, but a new short film gives us a pretty good idea.

For Alien Day, Fox just dropped this official Alien: Covenant prologue short called The Crossing, which stars both Prometheus survivors David (Michael Fassbender) and Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace).

So this explains why David is back together in Alien Covenant and confirms that he and Shaw reach the Engineers’ planet. However, where the short cuts off if very intriguing. David is standing above the population of the Engineer planet with a bunch of those evil canisters from Prometheus. What is he going to do?

Well, Fox already showed some people the footage of what he’s going to do, and while I won’t spoil it here, you can click the below link to find out.

Covenant. Every new little piece of footage or information just elevates that excitement, and at CinemaCon 2017, it happened again. Fox showed a clip that featured destruction and death on a level that’s rather rare, even for the violent Alien franchise.”]

Also of note, this is the second prologue video released for Covenant. The first focused more on the crew of the titular ship, who are in space hoping to start a new world. You can watch that below.

Lots of intriguing backstory to chew on before the first frame of footage even rolls.

Alien Covenant opens May 11.
