When To Expect The Arrival Of Gotham’s Proto-Harley Quinn

It’s time for more wild speculation about casting Cable in Deadpool 2. Another character is confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War. There are new rumours about Wonder Woman being in trouble. Plus, new footage from Riverdale and The Flash, and David Anders wants a musical episode of iZombie. To me, my spoilers!

When To Expect The Arrival Of Gotham’s Proto-Harley Quinn

Deadpool 2

Because no one can post anything to the internet without inspiring a heaping dose of crazy speculation, people are assuming that this Instagram picture from Ryan Reynolds is hinting that Pierce Brosnan is in the running to play Cable in the Deadpool sequel. And that Hugh Jackman would have a part in that decision, because of Logan or something? Look, I don’t know how this is meant to work, I just roll with it.

Avengers: Infinity War

Nebula will indeed appear in the movie, as Karen Gillan told BBC:

I’ll be making a little appearance in the next Avengers movies.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Here’s another quote from Gillan, this time discussing Nebula’s expanded role in the sequel:

“What I love about the second movie for Nebula in particular is that we get — We know that she’s a pretty angry woman with some daddy issues. [But] in the second movie, we’re going to start to see how much pain her father actually caused her, and we’re going to delve right into the relationship with her sister Gamora. I think we might even feel a tinge of sympathy towards Nebula this time, because we really start to see the emotional crack in her character,” she added. “I was just allowed to completely explore that and take it to a completely different dimension with her. I was really happy about that.”

If you’d like your “first look” at Kurt Russell’s Ego the Living Planet in the movie to be in the form of giant-head super deformed plastic toys, then we have you covered.

Wonder Woman

Get your salt shakers primed and ready, because a new “report” has emerged alleging that the film is in dire straights. The source is co-host of the Schmoes Know podcast Sasha Perl-Raver, who stated on a recent episode that a source who’s seen part of the film told her that the film is disjointed and messy:

So, I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. We have somebody within our community who has gotten insider information that broke my effing heart this week, because I have tremendous belief that Wonder Woman is gonna be awesome and I heard it stinks from the same person who told me that they heard that BvS stinks… the person who I spoke to… their response was ‘I’m very disappointed in what I saw, and it seems like all the problems are the same problems. It’s discombobulated, it doesn’t have narrative flow. It’s just very disjointed.

It isn’t the soundest or most specific of reports — even Perl-Raver regards it as hearsay — so unless you have a lasso of truth handy, it’s best to treat it with some scepticism for now.

The Kingpin

Vincent D’Onofrio stresses his Wilson Fisk will not be appearing in any of the currently planned theatrical Marvel movies.

I would love to switch over to the movies, but I think it’s pretty much been said it’s not going to happen. Or at least not for a very, very long time. I think [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin Feige explained that, and that’s what makes the most sense, he said the film universe is too jam-packed.

It’s hard enough already, and if they keep bringing big characters in that they have to service in the writing, it’s not gonna work. They’re trying to figure out already how to individualise more and at the same time keep The Avengers going … It makes sense not to mix the TV stuff, there’s just too many characters.

Green Lantern

Sterling K. Brown would like to play John Stewart, if anybody’s listening.

Early Man

Maisie Williams joins Aardman’s new claymation caveman film as Goona, a rebel friend of main character Dug who “helps steer him through the clash of Stone Age and Bronze Age civilizations”.

Goosebumps 2

The sequel has been given a distinctly unspooky 28 January 2018 US release date. [Coming Soon]

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2

Zoe Kravitz thinks Leta could stick around for multiple sequels:

I think there’s a few ahead. The relationship between Leta and Newt Scamander is a complex relationship, so I think there will be a lot of time for that to grow and develop, which will be fun.

But beyond that, she also has no idea where the franchise is heading:

I know nothing! I have an idea, based off of when I auditioned, but I know nothing. Even when I went to go do my chemistry read with Eddie, he was trying to help me piece together what was happening in the scene that we were reading. He doesn’t get to see anything either, so he was like, ‘I think based off of this line and this line, and what we shot here and here, this is what’s going on.’ We had to guess. It was funny to watch him, trying to piece it all together.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Alice goes on the attack (against Iain Glen!) in a new clip from the film.

Gotham

Executive producer John Stephens told TV Guide that Harley Quinn’s “precursor” will arrive later this season, and serve as the springboard for some presumably Jerome-laden shenanigans in season four.

“We might see [her] in Episode 22,” Stephens said, teasing the character will be the “launching point” for the main plot of the show’s fourth season.

Riverdale

Lili Reinhart discusses where Betty is at, going into the events of the series.

iZombie

David Anders would really like to join the show’s CW/DC brethren and do a musical episode in (the currently uncertain) season four:

We’ve been lobbying hard for a musical episode. We’ve been compared to Buffy in the past and Buffy did one.
