Stranded Astronauts Adopt An Elaborate Coping Mechanism In Imaginative Short Scavengers

Video: Marooned on a far-off but weirdly Earth-like planet, a pair of astronauts spend their days studying the very strange, surreal creatures that roam its surface. Their experiments may seem odd (and involve a lot of gooey slime), but there’s a specific goal at the end that has everything to do with good ol’ homesickness.

Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner’s animated vision of an alien ecosystem is both fascinating and totally weird. There’s no dialogue in Scavengers, just eerie, visceral sound effects and faintly haunting music.
