Netflix Now Has Video Previews

Trying to decide on your next binge session based on a couple of images and a description can get tricky. Video previews are a new way Netflix is aiming to make that decision a little easier.

Netflix do a whole lot of research into exactly how long each program has to grab your attention – only 90 seconds, in fact. So this makes a lot of sense.

Netflix is quick to point out that video previews aren’t teasers or trailers, but “specially designed video synopses” that aim to highlight the story, characters and tone.

The video previews are available globally from today, rolling out on Netflix-enabled mobile devices and consoles in the next few weeks. Smart TVs can expect the update “in the coming months”.
