Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Vulture comes armed with a rather beastly version of his wings from the comics. His action figure version has some to match — and they’re so big, you actually need to buy several other figures just to get them.
Hasbro has revealed, through CBR, the first figure in its Homecoming-themed wave of toys due for release in autumn next year, celebrating the release of the trailer for the movie. The 6″ tall Vulture himself is part of the wave, but the giant wings themselves are a “build-a-figure” bonus: You’ll have to buy a certain number of other figures from the as-yet-unrevealed wave — some of which will be based on Spider-Man: Homecoming (including, presumably, a new Spider-Man figure), and some of which will draw from Marvel’s comics — in all its glory.
It’s a bit of a dick move that in order to get the full version of the Vulture, you need to buy most of the figures in the wave — including, inevitably, some characters you won’t actually want. But that aside, it’s a damn good looking figure, and the wings themselves elevate it to something special. On top of the Vulture being your standard articulated figure, the wings actually have 12 different points of articulation for various moving parts, letting you pose the whole character in some dynamic ways.
It’s pretty great… but it will be a pricey figure to complete, considering a Marvel Legends Infinite toy usually sells for around $US20 ($27). That means you’ll probably end up spending around $US100-$US120 ($134-$161) if you want Vulture for yourself when he hits shelves next year.
