Avril Lavigne: Mark Zuckerberg’s Nickelback Joke Promotes ‘Bullying’

This week Avril Lavigne condemned the Facebook CEO for using Nickelback as a punchline in the wack promotional video for his robo-butler Jarvis, calling the jab at her husband Chad Kroeger’s band “in poor taste.”

“You have a voice like yours, you may want to be more responsible with promoting bullying, especially with what’s going on in the world today” wrote Lavigne in a message on Twitter. “#SayNoToBullying #TheJokeIsOld #NickelbackHasSoldOver50MillionAlbums”

In the offending video released earlier this week, Zuckerberg asks Jarvis to play him “some good Nickelback songs.”

“I’m sorry, Mark, I can’t do that,” Jarvis replies. “There are no good Nickelback songs.” That’s it. That’s the whole joke.

In the wise words first spoken by a Canadian Hot Topic icon so many years ago, Lavigne herself would do well to chill out and ask, “What you yelling for?”
