We’re two weeks out from Rogue One opening day, which means we’re in the final frantic rush for Disney to build up all the hype that it really doesn’t need. This Saturday morning, it’s doing exactly that by live-streaming unseen footage from the film on Twitter.
A live-stream of a Rogue One: A Star Wars Story event held by Disney and People will go live at RogueOne.Twitter.com at 5AM Sydney time on Saturday morning — gee, really convenient timing, thanks folks — with footage “filmed from a secret location”, presumably to stop mad-keen fans from storming it. As well as new content that hasn’t appeared in any trailer previously, there’ll also be a Q&A session with Rogue One director Gareth Edwards and some of the movie’s cast members.
To be honest, we’re in the couple of weeks before a film’s release that I actively try not to watch any new trailers or teasers, because I’m deathly afraid of spoilers — I’ve been burned before. But the Q&A with actors like Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn — which you can ask questions for by tweeting with the hashtag #AskRogueOne — sounds like it’ll be pretty good fun.
