The PlayStation 4 Pro Is Out In Australia Now

Sony’s latest and greatest PlayStation — the most powerful console ever, capable of 4K and HDR and VR — is out now. You can buy a PlayStation 4 Pro at a few different electronics stockists around the country, and while bundles and bargains are few and far between, here’s where you can check for one.

At the moment, both JB Hi-Fi and EB Games, Sony’s official launch partners for the PS4 Pro, have the console for its $559 recommended retail price, although direct from Sony is technically more expensive at $559.95.

If you’re looking for a deal, our Kotaku brethren tell us that if you do pick up a PS4 Pro, you’ll also have the opportunity to pick up Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dishonored 2, Skyrim: Special Edition or Watch Dogs 2 for $39 rather than their somewhat higher RRPs, saving yourself a few dollars along the way.

We’ve also been told by the guys at OzBargain that EB Games will price match those discounts, so if you intend to pick up your PS4 Pro there you can save a little bit too. Here’s a full list of the titles that will support the PS4 Pro’s standout features — 4K resolution, HDR support — at launch.

Buying a PS4 Pro is worth it, too, even if you only have a 1080p TV. If you have a shiny new Ultra HD TV — I set mine up literally last night — then it’s a no brainer to get the new console over its regular variant, which is still on sale.

If you’re not a Sony fan or one of the PlayStation faithful, then there’s also the Xbox One S to consider, which is an equally new, equally 4K-ready, equally-HDR-friendly console. And it can play 4K Blu-rays too…

We’ll keep track of any new deals as they pop up, so stay tuned. [Sony]
