This Supercheap Auto Ad Is Forza Horizon 3 In Real Life

Supercheap Auto wants to sell you oil. Oil from Shell. Oil from Penrite. Oil from Nulon and Castrol. To do that, it made an awesome ad that looks like it was ripped straight out of Forza Horizon 3.

With a clip that starts with four different dirt racing trucks in customised fibreglass shells for each brand airlifted by helicopter onto the beach at Surfer’s Paradise, the race runs from the sand to the port of Brisbane into the city over a couple of minutes. That’s just about how long it’d take you to drive across Australia in the latest Forza game.

There’s explosions and jumps along the way, powerslides and AC/DC and handbrake turns and POV in-cockpit footage. It’s a real life version of a video game. That’s exactly what it is. Seriously, how much did this thing cost to make? It’s great — and there’s even a cameo from Moog of Mighty Car Mods fame, in the stripped-out, dirt-ready Mod Max Nissan Silvia. [YouTube]
