Here’s How You Can Watch The Bathurst 1000 In Augmented Reality

Augmented reality has come to the Bathurst 1000. Accessed via an app, you’ll get live track data, cockpit telemetry, the position of the top ten drivers on the track, lap-times and detailed information about speed, acceleration, braking and gear selection.

To make it work you will need to install the Fox Vision app from either Google Play or the App Store, then activate a specially embedded trigger in the shape of Mount Panorama on this image.

Then…magic! A 3D replica of Mount Panorama in the palm of your hand. There’s also 3D Play, a racing game where you drive a Supercar around a virtual miniature Bathurst race track. You can time yourself and upload your fastest to social media. Then there’s the 360 degree VR camera footage from inside a Supercars cockpit, designed to show you what its like to be behind the wheel.

If you want to watch the race itself, you’ll have to do so on Foxtel. Pit Lane Live starts at 6.30pm tonight, with Day 3 kicking off at 8.30am tomorrow and Race Day itself at 7.15am on Sunday.
