Doctor Strange Writer Pens Gorgeous Short Film About A Fallen Angel Hunter

Director Nikhil Bhagat has released a short film about a man who hunts and kills fallen angels, penned by Doctor Strange writer C. Robert Cargill. And damn, I think it’s high time for a Constantine reboot from these guys.

The short film, As They Continue to Fall, has been in the works for a couple of years. It was originally funded on Kickstarter with a planned release date of May 2014. According to the Kickstarter, it’s about a homeless man in a dystopian world who’s been gifted with the ability to see fallen angels, so he takes it on himself to rid the world of them.

“The society is a dark and foreboding metropolis filled with crime, corruption, grime, and a sense of urban decay. The short is going to attempt to have the audience fill in the blanks with their own metaphysical models and come to a conclusion themselves. It will not be heavy handed or loaded with answers,” Bhagat wrote.

Bhagat said As They Continue to Fall is a “proof of concept” for a larger series or franchise. That sounds awesome, but I’d really love to see a new Constantine film by these two guys. I’m not sure if Marvel would be too keen to see their beloved Doctor Strange writer cross over to the DC side of the cinematic universe, but we need redemption for that Keanu Reeves misfire — oh, and that whole TV series thing. It’s time for salvation.
