Remember Honda’s iconic Cog ad, from over a decade ago? Honda has re-made that ad, showing what it might have been if knock-off parts were used. The results are… predictable.

The ‘Kog’ ad, made by Honda Ontario in Canada, is barely 15 seconds long, but it doesn’t need to be any longer. The implication is pretty clear: use dodgy parts and things won’t run so smoothly for your car.

Fun fact: the Cog ad cost a million pounds and took seven hours to film — but six months to plan, with some of the parts needing to be positioned within one sixteenth of an inch. Here it is for posterity:
