Tesla is planning to open the doors on its first integrated retail store at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne this October. On display will be the Model S and the soon-to-be released Model X, as well as Tesla branded merchandise — we’re taking polos, jackets, drink bottles and handbags.

Tesla already has service centers and stores in Richmond and Lower North Shore Sydney, as well as the flagship store in Sydney’s Martin Place.
The idea is that you can walk right in and customise the design of your car with the “Design Studio”. There are decor pallets to mix and match so you can see what the different colours and materials for interiors look like together with the external paint options. And of course, you can organise a test drive — of the Model S for now, at least.
Tesla says the Destination Charging is already popular in Chadstone, where drivers can score priority parking near Myer while they top up.
