Doctor Who

Steven Moffatt says that as far as his writing of season 10 is concerned, Peter Capaldi is staying on with the show after his own departure, saying in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine:

I have no reason to suppose that I’m writing out a Doctor. Peter is loving the role, and long may he do so.

Sleepy Hollow

Jeremy Davies has been cast as the show’s new villain, Malcolm Dreyfuss:

…an eccentric and outspoken tech mogul who became a billionaire before the age of 30, and has since been seeking other worlds to conquer. In many ways, he is a dark mirror to Tom Mison’s Crane, since he represents capitalism and democracy gone awry — a perversion of the American dream that Crane and the Founding Fathers fought so hard to establish.

Star Trek: Discovery

We have reached the point in a new Star Trek series’ life wherein every previous Star Trek cast member is asked if they’re going to be on the show. Here’s Brent Spiner:

We talked about Discovery and what his plans are for it. But I don’t know that it’s for me to divulge anything that he wants to do. I’m not sure if I’d want to be a part of it, having done, at this point, 180-some hours of Star Trek. But I’d certainly like to work with Bryan Fuller.

Spiner also elaborated on what makes Fuller’s approach to the franchise different:

Bryan comes at it from a completely different point of view than a lot of people who have created Star Trek in the past, all of them being, by the way, very bright and creative people. Bryan comes from a much more emotional place — from the heart, really. And, at this point, that’s a nice, refreshing way to go with it.
