There you are, just trying to get some alone time, watching your favourite fleshy, cinematic masterpiece, when BLAMMO! Someone walks in and catches you with your pants around your ankles and your face slobbered into slack-jawed oblivion.
We’ve all been there. (Right?) One dude, however — Mike, the CEO of the Useless Duck Company, which also brought us the violent toilet paper dispenser of our dreams — has devised a workaround for these embarrassing encounters: The Incognito Lock.
Arduino explained how it works on its blog:
Mike has hooked his PC up to an Arduino Uno that’s connected to a servo-controlled lock. A self-written program then checks all of the browsers running on his computer, and if it finds one in incognito mode, it sends a signal to the Arduino to bolt the door.
Mike says it’s intended to protect husbands shopping for their wives’ Christmas presents. Ahem. Just like the company’s toilet paper dispenser and self-tipping fedora, the Incognito Lock belongs in its own hall of fame.
