This Is The Best Thing Foxtel Has Ever Done

Guys. Guys. Get onto the Foxtel website now, and get yourself a subscription. From the morning of Friday July 8th, until the early hours of Monday July 11th, Foxtel has a pop-up channel — on cable TV, online on Foxtel Play, and on mobile on Foxtel Go — playing nothing but back-to-back Fast & Furious films.

A brand new channel (number 400) will rumble into life at 6AM on Friday July 8th, and will screen all seven of the F&F movies in cinematic screening order — first the modern classic that is The Fast and the Furious, then underrated gem 2 Fast 2 Furious, then Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift for a change of scenery, then back to the original storyline with Fast & Furious, then the glorious entrance of The Rock in Fast Five, then the action continues with Fast & Furious 6 and reaches a crescendo with Furious 7.

If you’re game to marathon each and every movie back to back — that’s 13 hours and 47 minutes of cinematic excellence, or enough time to run 5,513 quarter miles in Dom’s 1970 Dodge Charger — you’ll be done by midday on Friday, but the channel runs non-stop until the early hours of Monday morning. It’ll also be available through Foxtel Play and Foxtel Go if you have the appropriate Entertainment package, and all the movies will be up on Foxtel Anytime from Tuesday morning.

Foxtel’s pop-up channels are already a fan favourite in the Foxtel Movies family, but this one is definitely, obviously the best one yet (or ever), because, c’mon, it’s the Fast & Furious movies. [Foxtel]

· Fast & Furious 6 (2013) – After toppling the kingpin’s empire in Rio in Fast Five Dom, Brian and their crew have scattered across the globe having split their latest $100 million take among them; only, everyone’s anxious to get back home after life on the run. Meanwhile Hobbs is tracking another group of mercenary drivers and knows the only way to stop them is to cut a deal with Brian and Dom. The deal? Full pardons so the crew can finally go home, but only if they can out match the mercenary team.

· Fast & Furious 7 (2015) – Hoping they’d left their criminal life in the past, Dom and his crew have gone separate ways only to be hunted down by someone out for revenge. Worse still, they cross paths with terrorists out to steal a computer terrorism program that can turn any technology into a weapon.
