Telstra is giving away free Wi-Fi — again — from 17 to 20 June. But this time it’s not to make up for a service outage.
In celebration of the first ever World Wi-Fi Day, there is free Wi-Fi for everyone — customer or not — available from Telstra stores and pink-box Wi-Fi hotspots.
But you’ll need to get in quick — the free Wi-Fi will time out after 30 minutes (you’ll need to reconnect if you want to use it for longer) and there will be a cap on the number of users per hotspot. If you’re trying to connect to a hotspot that’s full, you’ll see an on-screen notification to move to the next available hotspot on the Telstra Air Map.
You can find your closest hotspot here, and get instructions on how to connect on Telstra’s blog (it’s pretty basic).
If you have Telstra Air you’ll already have free Wi-Fi access to all Telstra Air hotspots across Australia until 30 September, 2016.
