Not that anybody needed a Facebook “it’s summer” reminder to begin with, but Brits are doubly annoyed that they got the greeting when it’s pouring rain outside.
Facebook apparently showed everyone the cheery summer graphic (“Hello sun — it’s been a while”) without checking the weather forecast. While the weather in the company’s California offices may merit large beach umbrellas, nobody across the pond is thinking of having a beach day.
No Facebook. It clearly isn’t the first day of summer. #wetfeet pic.twitter.com/TBtbjXOj6H

Facebook tells me it’s the first day of summer. Facebook lies. Facebook clearly doesn’t live in #London. pic.twitter.com/chhrWUKlfV

The weather in the UK may be famously foggy, but Facebook doesn’t need to rub it in, especially when this month might be the wettest on record. And as for Facebook — at least this isn’t as bad as when it told Filipinos their country was at war.
