The Dark Tower

Stephen King has posted a new teaser image to his twitter account for the movie, which has lead to much speculation that the film will in fact not be an adaptation of the events of the novel, but instead a continuation, building out of the book’s cyclical nature. [/Film]

The Janson Directive

X-Men: Apocalypse

Jennifer Lawrence tells Entertainment Weekly about her future with the franchise, adding that she’s apparently made a pact with co-stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender to only return for more movies if they do:

Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking, like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.

I would love to come back. I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realise how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.

Batman: The Killing Joke

An official synopsis for the film has been made available on iTunes:

What does it take for a person to snap? How much despair for a mind to fracture? These are the twisted questions that The Joker has set out to answer, to show Gotham that even an ordinary man like Commissioner Gordon is only one bad day away from sheer insanity. Based on the acclaimed DC Comics graphic novel, witness a journey into the dark psyche of the Clown Prince of Crime. Follow his humble beginnings as a struggling comic to his fateful encounter with the Dark Knight that changed everything. Fuelled by the return of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker, witness the birth of a super villain, the fortitude of a hero and the punch line that will leave you speechless.

Legends of Tomorrow

While discussing the season finale with The Hollywood Reporter, Marc Guggenheim talks about the threats the team will face in season two — and it won’t be the heavily-teased Thanagarians, the alien species that Hawkman and Hawkgirl were retconned into being members of in the comics:

The season two big bad is actually not going to be the Thanagarians. It’s going to be something else entirely. All I’ll really say about the nemesis in season two is Vandal Savage looks like a walk in the park compared to what the Legends will be facing. This will be a much, much bigger threat. I’m going to leave it at that because when we do reveal it, it’s going to be pretty big. People will be asking, ‘Vandal who?’ once they get the full picture of what our team is up against. It’s going to be way bigger than what you can even imagine, I can guarantee it.

The Flash

Grant Gustin tells Comicbook.com that Barry will maintain his optimistic nature despite the traumatic events of season two:

We won’t lose it. I will be adamant! I don’t know what’s going to happen in season 3, how they’re going to write it, where they’re going to go, but Berlanti and Kreisberg and Geoff — I actually don’t know how closely Geoff’s involved anymore — but all those guys know The Flash better than anybody, and they know that he has to have the optimism.

… He lost his mum at a young age, he saw her die right in front of him, then went back in time and watched it again… he’ll find a way to deal with this. He’s not going to let it ruin him. It’s going to be hard to come back from this one, but he’ll stay optimistic Barry.

Supergirl

There’s nothing in the way of new footage here, but the CW has released a promo highlighting the show’s arrival on the channel.

Arrow

Finally, a gallery of images from the season finale, “Schism”, has been released — head to the link to see more. [Coming Soon]
