Here’s The Footage A $5,000 GoPro Rig Can Shoot

GoPro finally has a replacement for all those homemade rigs — i.e. a bunch of GoPro cameras hacked together — designed for shooting 360 video: Its very own rig, which can be all yours for the low, low price of $US5,000 ($6,705).

Today, GoPro posted a video of the kind of footage you can expect:

The gadget, called Omni, was revealed last month at the National Association of Broadcasters Show. It’s made up of six Hero4 Black cameras in a cube, which hang out and capture footage while you perform some sweet ski jumps (or whatever else you might do with this kind of expensive equipment.)

360 video does necessitate Google Cardboard to watch it properly, but strap it on and you too can pretend to be skiing the Alps instead of sitting at your desk eating a sad desk lunch.
