Spider-Man: Homecoming
After apparently stepping away from early talks to join the film after Robert Downey Jr.’s appearance was confirmed, Michael Keaton has reportedly finalised a deal to appear as the Vulture. In a report released by Joblo detailing the roles of two villains in the film — the Vulture and the Tinkerer — it’s noted that plans to cast Keaton as the flying Spider-Man villain in the role fell through. However, The Hollywood Reporter shortly followed up that initial report by declaring that Keaton had entered talks once more, and was in the final stages of signing a deal to join the film as the primary antagonist.
Director Jon Watts had a little fun with all the Keaton rumours, taking to Twitter with a simple gif that many are taking as a nod towards the fact that Keaton will indeed be in the film.

Meanwhile in other Spider-Man villain news, a rumour out of Screen Geek late last week claimed that Marvel was considering integrating Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk into the movie, considering the character’s ties to Spider-Man. Not only would this be highly suspect given the Marvel movieverse’s seemingly frayed relationship with its TV output, but D’Onofrio himself took to social media to throw cold water on the rumour… but not before noting he wouldn’t mind being cast in a Spider-Man film.
