Wolverine 3

Superhero Hype claims that the movie is looking to cast Laura Kinney — AKA X-23, a young female clone of Logan from the comics who essentially becomes his surrogate daughter as well as a member of the X-Men.

Although the site doesn’t offer much else about Laura’s role in the film, given that this is meant to be Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine, it would make sense if she was meant to be the spiritual replacement for him in future movies — something she has already done in Marvel’s current comics, as the All-New Wolverine. As ever though, take these rumours with a pinch of salt.

Star Trek Beyond

Simon Pegg says that even though it appears the Enterprise gets destroyed in this film (judging from the trailer), that doesn’t mean it’s in any way nodding to the previous “third” movie in the franchise, Search for Spock:

No… although we were obviously aware of the coincidence of those two films. That might be a little nod for fans perhaps, but it’s certainly not something that the film depends upon or has any relationship to the plot of the previous ‘Star Trek III.’

Avengers: Infinity War

Stephen McFeely discusses the pressure of having to really introduce Thanos to the Marvel Movieverse:

Really giving him good scenes. You know, he’s never been the villain in any of the movies. He’s never been the main character in that way, so giving lots of good screen time to Thanos is paramount and pretty fun….He hasn’t had an amazing scene. I think it’s an advantage ultimately, right? Because people are anticipating this guy coming in and really delivering the goods. So, I think they’re eager, and we just have to deliver it. We don’t have to convince them that he’s gonna be interesting. We just have to execute what has been teased.

Meanwhile he and co-writer Christopher Markus return to their oft-quoted “67 characters” remark and say that obviously, the movie doesn’t have 67 lead roles:

Markus: That number comes from the fact that that’s everyone who’s already been introduced. If you line up all the characters who are available to use from the prior Marvel movies, it racks up to about 60 something characters, let alone the new ones you could bring in.

McFeely: We had our office filled with cards of everybody who was alive and available, and the brothers came in and went, ‘Whoa’. There’s not going to be 67 lead parts.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Megan Fox hypes up Krang’s appearance:

I think seeing Krang is going to be trippy. He’s a very weird looking character. They’re going to make him real. He’s not a cartoon.

The New Mutants

Maisie Williams addresses the recent rumours that she’s joined the film — offering a hint that, despite Fox’s denials, she may be more involved:

I can’t say much about it at all, but I would absolutely love to be a part of it, [and] to be a part of the Marvel family. New Mutants looks absolutely incredible and I’ve always loved the idea of spin-offs and [director] Joshua Boone is incredibly talented. So, yeah, sign me up.

Captain America: Civil War

Joe Russo discusses Wanda’s evolution as the Scarlet Witch in the movie and beyond:

She is on a growth arc, and it is part of her development. It is very tricky with powerful characters — because unless they have an internal struggle or a flaw that limits them, then they do become limitless, and the storytelling becomes muddled and not very interesting.

You know she could’ve stopped that fight at the airport in 5 seconds if she were at the peak of her powers, so it really has to do her character specifically going on a journey to understand what the limits of her powers are. She makes a mistake very early in the movie that sets her back, and we’ll get to see where she goes in Infinity War.

Here’s three German-dubbed TV spots, including the tiniest smattering of footage of Daniel Bruhl’s Baron Zemo.

Game of Thrones

Producer Bryan Cogman says that the show isn’t as dark as it was last year:

Season 5 was about taking characters to the brink — and for certain characters like Stannis and Jon, destroying them altogether. We left our central characters in huge moments of crisis and at their lowest points last year. All of them are now trying to rebuild their lives. Season 5 was in many ways our darkest. This season is still very dark, very intense, but it’s very much a next act.

The Flash

Following criticism about how the show has evolved Teddy Sears’ Jay Garrick/Zoom arc, Greg Berlanti promises that the series hasn’t “erased” Jay as a hero:

The 100
