The FBI Is Providing ‘Technical Assistance’ To Local Law Enforcement With iPhone Problems

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is widening their help to local law enforcement officials across the country by offering “technical assistance”.

According to Buzzfeed, the FBI has issued an advisory stating “we will continue to do everything we can to help you consistent with our legal and policy constraints.” The Bureau has already assisted an Arkansas prosecutor with a homicide investigation on Thursday.

Apple is understandably worried about the security on their phones being cracked, and it’s feared that it’s only a matter of time before the exploit leaks and becomes public knowledge, which puts the company at a disadvantage, as they don’t know the nature of the hack. [Buzzfeed]
