Samsung’s Milk Music Service Is Closing Next Week

Samsung will be closing the Milk Music service in Australia on 28 April 28. All of it — gone. As of next Thursday you won’t be able to stream music or access your cached music from Samsung Milk Music on your Samsung devices.

If you have subscribed to Milk Premium, the auto-renewal of your current subscription will be automatically disabled as of tomorrow, 21 April — which is also the date no new subscriptions will be accepted from.

“We want you to keep enjoying the music you love and have partnered with Google Play Music to offer Samsung Milk Music customers 3 months of Google Play Music on us,” Samsung said in a statement, also stating that customers will soon receive emails about how to redeem the offer — which does include leaving a form of payment.

$11.99 per month will be charged if you continue past the initial three months.

Samsung were pretty cagey about the reasons behind the service closure.

“While we are unable to share the business reasons behind the decision, we’d like to thank the music fans in Australia who joined us for this wonderful journey,” Samsung said.
