First Look At A Familiar Star Wars Spaceship That’s Returning For Episode VIII

The cast of Fantastic Beasts says some well-known Harry Potter faces might show up. Supergirl‘s producer offers a taste of what’s in store for Kara. James Gunn would love to include some Fox-owned characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. Plus, the first Iron Fist set pictures, and new Game of Thrones footage. Behold, spoilers!

Star Wars Episode VIII

Even I didn’t expect to ever see Star Wars spoilers, no matter how slight, come from the British monarchy, but here we are. A set visit conducted by Princes Harry and William to the film’s sets at Pinewood Studios included multiple pictures of Mark Hamill instructing Prince Harry in the finer art of spaceship piloting… while the young Prince of Wales was sitting in the cockpit of an A-Wing fighter.

The ship, which made its cinematic debut in Return of the Jedi, was conspicuously absent from The Force Awakens — so it’s nice to see it back in action. Head to the link to see a few more pictures, but for now, here are some future world leaders playing with lightsabers like small children. [The British Monarchy on Facebook]

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Dan Fogler hints at Harry Potter characters making an appearance:

You do meet…as the stories go along…you…you…I can’t give it away! You will see, you will hear mention of your favourite characters and you may even meet their younger counterparts along the way.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2

During another Facebook Q&A, James Gunn lists what characters he’d use from Fox’s stable of Marvel characters:

I probably wouldn’t add Ben Grimm to the Guardians team, even if [the Fantastic Four] were a part of the [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. And of course I would love the FF to be a part of the MCU…Fox owns so many great villains and cosmic characters. I would love to play around with including Annihilus — and I think they own Kang [the Conqueror].

Plan 9

John Johnson discusses his remake of Plan 9 from Outer Space:

I have known Conrad Brooks for many years now, and we would talk of Ed [Wood]’s work and crew on their many films and adventures and I always felt for the man. No matter how hard he would try, he never seemed to get a break. Then on the set of one of my other flicks, a PA in a hypothetical question asked me what film I’d remake if given the chance. And my answer…Plan 9 from Outer Space. Mainly for the reason that Ed meant for this film to be taken seriously and affect audiences in a hard way, but he just couldn’t seem to get it there. So now, 50 years later…I’m gonna try. It’s not so much a remake…As a tribute to the film and the man himself.

Supergirl

Andrew Kreisberg teases what could come in the show’s second season for Kara’s evolution as a hero.

This whole season has been about her embracing being Supergirl. In a way, this was her graduation episode. She hadn’t fully figured out how to integrate being Supergirl into her life. This whole season has been a learning experience for her. At the end of [the finale], she’s fully Supergirl. Next season, you’re going to see a Supergirl who is more mature, and a bit more of a cohesive character. She’s taken the identity of Kara and the identity of Supergirl and merged them in a better way. You’re just going to see a more confident, stronger Supergirl than we’ve ever seen before.

The time-travel science fiction drama from Netflix has entered production. Starring Eric McCormack and Mackenzie Porter, the series follows a group of time travellers from an apocalyptic future who send their consciousnesses back into the bodies of 21st century Americans, hoping to come together and use their knowledge of the future to stop it from ever happening.
