Richard Garfield, best known as the creator of Magic: The Gathering, is working with Hasbro to release a new version of his 1995 pet project Robo Rally.
The original game involved interchangeable boards, cards and robot tokens that took damage. Although a cult hit for some, Robo Rally was slow and somewhat confusing in its initial form, and it seems Garfield was considering a redesign as far back as 2014.
What changes he’s made have yet to be announced, but the updated version of the game will make an appearance at the SXSW Gaming Hall — where we’ll learn more.
