Logitech describes the G900 Chaos Spectrum as its “best gaming mouse yet” designed for maximum performance and comfort for long gaming sessions. It has all of the expected features of a high end gaming mouse — an advanced optical gaming sensor, ambidextrous design, customisable lighting, mechanical pivot button design and it is lightweight. But the real standout is its wireless technology, which promises to be professional grade, lag-free and faster than a wired mouse.

“We talked with eSports pros and none of them love the cable on a wired mouse,” said Ujesh Desai vice president and general manager of gaming at Logitech. “They wish they had the freedom of wireless but the performance and reliability of a wired mouse. So that was the design goal we gave our engineers, to build a wireless gaming mouse that was faster than the competition’s wired gaming mice. G900 delivers on this promise, and we’re confident it’s the best gaming mouse we’ve ever built.”
Logitech credits the G900’s one-millisecond report rate and “highly optimised” 2.4GHz wireless connection for its performance. The G900 exclusively utilises clock-tuning technology, which makes power consumption so low you’ll get 32 hours of continuous gaming on a single two hour charge. When you’re running low, you’ll get a notification and have the option to switch to wired.
The G900 features the PMW3366, which Logitech says “precisely interprets every hand movement onto the screen for smooth, responsive performance, even at high sensitivity”. It has zero smoothing or filtering across the entire DPI range (200-12,000 DPI), Logitech says, delivering “exceptional tracking accuracy and consistent responsiveness at any speed”.
The mouse is made in such a way that it can be customised to be ambidextrous, but it takes it further than that. Logitech says the G900 “accommodates a variety of palm, claw and fingertip holds”. There are also 16.8 million colours to choose from when customising the lighting, and the brightness can be adjusted, too. You can select “breathing” light patterns, or set your lighting to sleep when you aren’t using your PC.
“The buttons of the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum have been engineered to deliver a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click,” Logitech says. A metal spring tensioning system and mechanical pivoting hinges are built into the main left and right keys, reducing the pre-travel distance between the buttons and switches, while also minimising the force required to click, enabling faster recovery after each click. This means “a heightened response and a consistently fast, accurate and reliable click performance” according to Logitech.
The G900 weighs in at 107g, and Logitech really focused on getting this as low as possible. “Every component of the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum has been optimised to reduce weight while maintaining stability,” Logitech says. “All elements of the construction have been analysed and adjusted to remove fractions of grams, from the thin wall moulding to the hollow ‘spoked’ hyper-fast scroll wheel design”.
