HTC Teases Its New One M10 Smartphone

After the chaos of MWC and the announcement of both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5, now it’s HTC’s turn. Without sharing too much about its new phone, we know that it’s almost certainly going to be called the One M10, and HTC is slowly building up a bit of hype for its latest flagship.

That post, along with a more recent video talking about HTC’s obsession with making new stuff, are the two official hints we have towards the One M10; the photo above suggests a chamfered bezel on the front edge of the phone not too dissimilar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, while leaked images of the front of the phone look similar to an iPhone 6.

The new phone’s camera is widely expected to pair a 12-megapixel sensor with a f/1.9 lens. Dutch site TechTastic also suggests leaks show internal hardware roughly equivalent with this year’s Samsung and LG flagships — a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor and 4GB of RAM, all running through a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixel) AMOLED display.

That would put HTC’s screen one step ahead of the 5.3-inch LG G5 and one step behind the 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S7 in pixel density, but as always it’s the software that sets flagship smartphones apart — and HTC will have to make a significant overhaul to its Sense UI if it wants to stay current against Samsung’s increasingly refined TouchWiz and LG’s colourful interface, as well as offer competition to a newly revived Xiaomi.
