Big Hero 6 Is Getting A Much-Deserved TV Series

This is a great idea. It’s a better idea than a series of movies, honestly. Because what is more fitting to a superhero team than a bunch of weekly adventures?

The animated series is set to premiere on Disney XD sometime in 2017, and it will pick up right where the movie left off: Hiro’s now famous for the events in the movie and, according to Entertainment Weekly, will face daunting academic challenges and the social trials of being the little man on campus”.

Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred and Go Go will obviously also be around, so the name Big Hero 6 still makes sense. For them, the synopsis says, “Off campus, the stakes are raised for the high-tech heroes as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains.”

Disney XD has been home to a bunch of movie-based series over the years, but this one is honestly one of the more exciting. Maybe it’s because the movie version was already animated and more kid-friendly than Avengers or Spider-Man. Maybe it’s just that we cannot get enough Baymax. OK, yeah, it’s totally the Baymax thing.
