Actual Dogs Don’t Like Robotic Dogs Either

Video: Boston Dynamics’ line of robotic dogs creep the hell out of me and other sensible humans on this doomed planet. But at least my gut call is partially justified by this probably world-first meeting of man’s best friend and man’s future downfall.

The video, shot by venture capitalist Steve Jurvestson, shows Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot playing with actual flesh-and-bones canine Alex, apparently the dog of Android founder Andy Rubin.

The confrontation is definitely eerie. The two circle, with Alex yapping at Spot, and Spot doing its best intimidating crouch. Sure, the robot was being controlled by a human, which makes the exchange a little less random. But in any case, it’s good to know that dogs have our back when the robots rise up.
