A Wild Rumour Claims Marvel Is Planning A Captain Britain TV Show

An equally outlandish one claims to reveal Harrison Ford’s involvement in future Star Wars films. Geoff Johns says DC has plans for a live-action Booster Gold. Melissa Benoist talks about what makes The Flash a perfect crossover for Supergirl. Plus, more LEGO Batman Movie teases, and the return of Vixen. Spoilers now!

Star Wars Episode VIII

A source claiming to be familiar with the production told someone, who in turn told us that Harrison Ford will in fact appear in the movie… as a Force Ghost. And he’ll continue to appear as the ghostly spirit of Han Solo in both Episodes VIII and IX.

This is obviously extremely unlikely — only those strong in the Force (which Han very clearly wasn’t) can become Force Ghosts, and even then, it’s meant to be extremely difficult skill to master. Let’s chalk this one as total bizarre speculation, taken with enough salt to kill a slug the size of a small country. [h/t Shinobi_Jedi]

Han Solo Anthology

Speaking of Ford, the actor jokingly told Ellen DeGeneres about the dire future for whatever actor is chosen as the movie’s star:

It’s worse than that, it’s a young Han Solo.

Don’t do it. First it seems like everything’s going swimmingly, and you put in 25, 30 years, and then they just let you go. And they show you the door and say, ‘We’re done with you, thanks very much.’

Code 8

Robbie Amell talks up the fantastical elements of this superhero/near future movie:

It’s glorified. You know, these powers and nobody’s wearing superhero costumes. It’s much more grounded. The deal was to try and make it feel, and really did develop their minor superpowers, although of course, some are a little stronger than others, but what would it be like and what would people do and how would people use them? And it kind of helps us that we’re working on a limited budget because the scale can’t grow too out of control. So we’re not going to have anybody levitating a stadium in the air. It’s awesome. I mean, I’m a huge fan of those movies and those franchises, but that’s not our world. This is more along the lines of a grounded character piece that just happens to have fantastical elements.

Booster Gold

Geoff Johns tells Comicbook.com that DC has major plans for the character in their live-action universes, be it film or TV:

You’ll see [Booster Gold] very soon, and there’s talks about…there’s actually a lot of plans for Booster Gold, one of my favourite characters. But yeah, Booster Gold fans, you will definitely be happy with what we’ve got coming up in the years ahead.

Secret Life of Pets

Here’s an Easter-themed TV spot.

Batman v Superman

A new trailer that aired during this week’s Gotham features a few new shots from the film, mainly focusing on Batman.

Meanwhile, this IMAX featurette looks at the making of the film’s “Knightmare” sequence.

The LEGO Batman Movie

Will Arnett has revealed the film’s logo.

Captain Britain

Producer and movie poster artist Ciara McAvoy has taken to Twitter to claim that Marvel is in fact developing a TV series based on Brian Braddock, AKA Captain Britain — the United Kingdom’s answer to Captain America.

Given the relative obscurity of the character (even in comparison to the characters Marvel has already adapted for its Cinematic Universe), and the fact that McAvoy’s comments have yet to be wiped off the face of the internet with a flurry of NDAs, it seems like this is highly unlikely — but you never know.

Supergirl

Andrew Kreisberg sets up the show’s Flash crossover:

Barry and Kara take a little bit of a leave of their problems for a week to engage in the kind of hilarious high-stakes high jinks that ensue when two superheroes wind up in the same universe.

While Melissa Benoist discusses what makes the teamup so perfect, and what the encounter will mean for Kara going forward:

What’s so wonderful about these two characters in particular is that they’re so joyful and happy to be heroes. There’s this mutual understanding, respect, and excitement that they found each other.

He teachers her quite a bit about what it means to be a hero, what kind of hero she wants to be, and even personally about love, friendship, and being true to who you are.

Former WWE Diva Eve Torres Gracie has been cast as Maxima in an upcoming episode of the series. In the comics, Maxima was an alien with psionic powers who came to Earth to find a worthy suitor. [CBR]

Vixen

Megalyn Echikunwoke has confirmed that a second six-episode season of the animated series is underway:

Game of Thrones

Bryan Cogman briefly teases the major battle in the show’s upcoming season — not confirmed, but he’s likely discussing a major battle between the Houses of the North, led by Jon Snow, against the Boltons, an extensive sequence filmed in Saintfield in Northern Ireland last year:

It’s definitely the biggest [action sequence yet]. We’ve always wanted to get to a place — story-wise and budget-wise and time-wise and resource-wise — where we would be able to do a proper battle, with one army on one side, one army on another side.

The Defenders

Elodie Yung discusses a potential role for Elektra in the crossover show:

I would love to appear in ‘The Defenders’. I don’t know — because hopefully she’ll maybe be on the bad side. I don’t know — I don’t know what they’d do with Elektra in ‘The Defenders’ but that would be a good dynamic I think — to be confronted by these four superheroes and I think it would be interesting. I’d be curious to see what they do.

The 100

Here’s a brief synopsis for “Fallen”:

THE TRUTH HURTS — Jaha (Isaiah Washington) employs a terrifying new method to convince Abby (Paige Turco) to join his cause, Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) is on a mission, and Bellamy (Bob Morley) is hit with a hard truth. Meanwhile, Monty (Christopher Larkin) finds himself in a precarious situation, and Jasper (Devon Bostick) rushes to save one of his own.
