Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ Saga is an amazing sci-fi epic. But lets be honest — its real star is Lying Cat, a Cat that can detect when people aren’t telling the truth and promptly calls them out for it. Now she’s getting a talking plush, and it’s pretty damn perfect.
Sold by Essential Sequential, the 48cm soft toy depicts Lying Cat proudly sitting, and even has a pose-able tail. But the real star is the fact that you can press Lying Cat’s collar and get a sound bite of Lying Cat actually saying “Lying!” Is this the first official time we’ve heard Lying Cat? You can check it out in the video below.
It’s perfect. I kinda wish the plush itself captured the blue-grey skin of Lying Cat you see in the comic a bit more, but hey! Talking Lying Cat! I’m not sure I get to complain about the existence of such a thing.
Lying Cat will set you back $US35 ($49) if you want to pre-order it ahead of its May 2016 release. Even better? If you do, you get a 13cm x 18cm print from Saga creators Vaughan and Staples themselves for free, to boot. Someone find a real Lying Cat and suss out whether or not this is really too good to be true.
