Marvel Says It Has No Plans For A Punisher Netflix Show… Yet

And while you’re at it, don’t expect an Einstein and Miller X-Files spinoff. There’s more talk that Daniel Craig is done with James Bond. Powerless adds three more stars to its cast. Plus Rhet Rheese offers an update on Zombieland 2, and Krysten Ritter hopes Jessica Jones might appear in Infinity War. Spoilers!

James Bond

A strange way to hear it, but actor Mark Strong — a close friend of Daniel Craig — claims that the actor is well and truly done with Bond:

Do you know what, I’d have loved to have played the villain in a Bond movie while Daniel was doing it because he’s a pal and that would have been great. But I think he’s come to the end of his Bond time and so it’s probably never going to happen, but that would have always been great.

Zombieland 2

Rhett Reese says the movie is still happening:

It’s actually still in development at Sony. They have had a couple writers take a crack at it, we’re still exec producers and we’re guiding and helping where we can, and I think there’s still very much talk about it, but I think it has to be right. I think all the actors and Ruben [Fleischer] all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right.

Avengers: Infinity War

Krysten Ritter is optimistic in her hopes that Jessica Jones and her Marvel Netflix pals will get to rub shoulders with the Avengers:

That’s an interesting question because I love Jessica and I love any opportunity to play her. Obviously, it’d be really exciting to be a part of those giant, huge movies with those great characters who are already established, so it’d be awesome.

I’m also really lucky because our Netflix playground is so unique and so grounded and gritty and more adult, I don’t think it’s quite R-rated but it’s close. There’s some sex scenes. So, a little bit of both! It’d be awesome if I got to pop up somewhere else. There’s always the chance that could happen. I don’t really know, they don’t tell me anything, so I’m totally stoked about the playground on Netflix.

Allegiant

Tris and Four get smoochy in a new clip.

Punisher/Daredevil

After recent reports that Marvel and Netflix were looking to break out the Punisher into his own series, Marvel TV exec Jeph Loeb has thrown cold water on the idea:

I think that’s something that people are speculating on, as opposed to something that’s actually happening. It’s certainly our hope that any of our characters will be embraced and that people want to see more of them.

Speaking of which, here’s a new promo and poster focusing on Frank Castle.

The X-Files

Following the show’s controversial cliffhanger ending, Chris Carter confirms the obvious: Fox is indeed hoping for more of the show:

[Fox is] going to ask for more. The ratings were very good. They were happy with the show. I talked to Dana Walden today. She said they’d very much like more, but nothing’s being negotiated yet.

[There is] an appetite for more in the future, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to get it done.

But what they aren’t looking for, according to Carter, is the often rumoured spinoff that would replace Mulder and Scully with Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose’s Agents Miller and Einstein:

I really love those guys. They’re terrific actors, and excellent to work with. It would be nice to include them.

But, at the same time, we didn’t make series deals with them. I can’t imagine they’re not going to be scooped up and be somewhat unavailable to us. It will just be practical about how we’re able to work with them in the future.
