Look at the Graceful Path of an Attack Helicopter as It Spits Fire

Image Cache: This is what a US Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopter looks like from a distance as it strafes the night sky: A graceful curve of light with only arcs of sparks to reveal that it's actually spewing ammunition. Browse through the cool photos, animations and diagrams in Gizmodo's Image Cache here.

This long exposure shot was taken during an exercise called Eager Centaur which took place in an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia on February 1. You can see the the path of the aircraft as a continuous red line from right to left, which was drawn by its position lights. The rest of the streaks of light are the traces of shots fired toward the ground.

I wonder what the time-frame for this was? I'm going to guess only a minute or two based on how little the stars are dragging.

So by "spits fire" you mean "kills people" Sweet. Die enemies of the USA

It was an image from an exercise.

Maybe they should label it "No enemies of the USA were harmed in the making of this image.."
