Someone Has Made A Word Processor That Runs Only Using Graphics Card Shaders

WordToy is a very simple word processor, made in a very unique way.

Creator poljere writes: “The first pass “Buffer A” currently stores the total number of characters introduced as well as each character, the second pass “Image” reads texture “Buffer A” and renders the letters.”

Have a play here.

Shadertoy is a platform that allows developers to “push pixels from code to screen using WebGL” from which a number of cool projects have sprung. If you’re looking for an excuse to procrastinate, I highly recommend having a browse.
