Mark Zuckerberg Wants You To Run 587km This Year

Mark Zuckerberg has big ambitions for 2016. Not content with making Ex Machina a reality, he’s also challenging us all to run 587km by the end of the year. Are you game?

He posted to Facebook:

I have a physical challenge for 2016 as well. I’m going to run 365 miles and I’d love for as many people in this community to join me as possible…

We’ll call this year’s challenge A Year of Running. I’ve set up a public group where we can all discuss our running adventures and I’ll post periodically on my progress.

He says that 587km — the equivalent of about 14 marathons — is “a lot of running” but “not a crazy amount”. And he’s right: it’s essentially a ten-minute run every day for most people, though we’re sure he won’t mind too much if you do it in larger chunks.
