When you’re buying your lunch today, you might want to take a moment and spend a little more. Gizmodo’s Lunch Time Deals posts point out any particularly good bargains for Aussie bargain hunters around the ‘net. Today, JB Hi-Fi has $100 off Microsoft’s Surface 3 tablet, with the cheapest 64GB model down to $598.
$598 for the 64GB Surface 3 is a full $100 off its previous price. If you want double the storage, the 128GB model is $738 — down $100 from its $838 RRP. At the moment, these deals haven’t even translated to the actual product pages (that’s how new they are!) but here’s proof, which you can also find on JB’s homepage:
Now read: Our review of the Microsoft Surface 3
Whereas the Surface Pro 3 was pitched as the tablet that can replace your laptop, the Surface 3 is designed to be the tablet that can do the things other tablets can’t. Microsoft wants you to use it primarily as a tablet, but also wants to give you the specs and software you need to use it as a laptop so you don’t have to switch when it comes time to work.
At these prices, the Surface 3 is a pretty tempting device — although you’ll need to remember to tack on the price of a $179 Type Cover for the Surface 3 if you want to use it as a proper laptop. And it looks like, at the moment at least, the 4G-enabled Surface 3 remains at full price. [JB Hi-Fi]
