Video: It’s never happened to me but after watching Coyote Peterson show people what it’s like to get quilled by a porcupine, I can tell you that it hurts like freaking hell. Dozens of those little daggers spiked themselves into his hand and a few were lodged pretty damn deep. Coyote Peterson got himself quilled for Brave Wilderness in order to show people the proper way to remove them. Bless his soul.
It’s all rather simple! He suggested that you snip off the top of the quills to remove some pressure and then simply grab, twist, and pull to get them out. Even though that sounds easy, it’s still going to hurt like holy hell.
