What Gear Are You Buying For Your Summer Adventures?

It’s finally warming up just about everywhere, so I think we can safely declare that summer is here. With the days growing longer, I’m planning some camping and hiking trips, including taking inventory of my gear. What’s on your must-purchase list to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors?

I desperately need a new headlamp. Last year, my decade-and-a-half-old Petzl headlamp finally dimmed to oblivion. This thing was so old that it needed an incandescent bulb (which is pretty much impossible to replace these days) and the straps had stretched out so much I had tied one side in a knot to make it fit on my head. On my last camping trip of the 2014 season, a late summer weekend in Mineral King area of Sequoia National Park, I actually lucked out with a full moon so I didn’t miss it too much. But I’m definitely going to need one for my first adventure of 2015.

Luckily, I’ve got an in-house advantage when it comes to choosing the right products — we’ve got a whole blog devoted to it. Indefinitely Wild reviews all the badass flashlights, lightweight tents, and coats so warm you can wear them to jump in an icy lake. You could even leave some suggestions here for what you’d like to see them review in the upcoming months.

In the meantime, the sun is out and it’s time to get packing. What kind of gear or gadgets are you picking up to get outside?
