Mercedes-Benz Made Uncrashable Toy Cars To Show Off Its Safety Tech

No consumer is ever too young to start fostering brand loyalty. So to help promote the anti-collision technology in its vehicles, and to seed the next-generation of owners, Mercedes-Benz created a couple of nifty toy cars that were impossible for kids to crash into each other.

The not-so-secret enhancement that made the two tiny Mercs impossible to crash was super strong opposing magnets installed behind the grills. No matter how intent the kids were on causing a head-to-head collision, they simply weren’t strong enough for the vehicles to even make contact.

The Brake Assist System Plus feature that Mercedes-Benz now includes on its full-size cars isn’t quite as effective at avoiding impacts as these toy cars are, so hopefully once these kids are old enough to get their licenses they will be less intent on intentionally causing accidents.
