Here’s The First Trailer For Pride And Prejudice And Zombies

I could not get into the 2009 novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith (and Austen), though maybe, just maybe, the upcoming movie adaptation will reignite my literary desires. At the very least, I’ll get to enjoy a bit of zombie slaying, ballroom dancing and uh, corsets.

If you’ve never heard of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, it’s exactly what you think it is — Jane Austen’s seminal work, modified to include sporadic bouts of undead combat. While the book is a so-so read (well, the half I was able to wade through before losing interest), the film looks like it might be worth a watch, if only for the cast.

Who’s involved? Former Doctor Who incarnation Matt Smith, Downton Abbey’s Lily James and Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey are the headliners.

If they can’t do something good with the source material (a large portion of which is unaltered Austen), then the zombie-sprinkled re-imagining was never meant for the silver screen.
