The NSA’s Official Love Notes Are Deeply Weird

The National Security Agency has created a line of shareable digital love note e-cards to send to your friends and family. Very normal, very cool, very NSA.

People who like fake holidays all over the world celebrated Love Notes Day this weekend, and it appears some of those people are NSA employees.

It’s like a rusty Soviet computer in a broom closet is running the campaign to humanize the agency, and it was only given access to a 1998 Marmaduke daily planner to understand the intricate workings of the human heart. And the only design note it was given was “drunk 2nd grade teacher from southern Ohio has some fun at Kinkos.”

Really looking forward to their followup Valentine’s Day card series:

Violets are blue

We’re watching you
