Holy. Shit. The first trailer for Doctor Who’s ninth season is up, and I think I’ve watched it about 20 times already.
It’s an amazing-looking trailer for the new season. It’s grittier. It’s darker. The TARDIS wheeze sounds older. The Doctor looks older. Clara looks wizened to the universe.
We even get a look at a few new locations for the season, including what looks like the Dalek homeworld of Skaro. Villains spotted include The Master, the Daleks and the gross-looking Zygons.
The season will also bring with it the arrival of Maisie Williams. You know her as Arya Stark from Game Of Thrones. No word yet on who she plays in the series (the BBC likes to keep these things a secret), but she seems to have a good relationship with the Doctor already from her brief appearance in the trailer.
It airs on 19 September. I can’t wait that long.
