Intel Souped Up Its 5th Generation Core Processors: Better Graphics, Faster Chips

Intel’s Broadwell 5th Generation Core processors have only been around for a few months, but the chip maker is already souping them up. New 5th Generation Core processors with improved Iris graphics and speed.

Intel’s 6th Generation Skylake processors are set to arrive in Q3, but in the meantime, we’ve got these high-performance 5th Generation desktop and mobile computing processors to round out Broadwell.

Intel has announced 15 new Core i5, Core i7 and Xeon processors for all sorts of computers.

Prices start at $244 for the entry-level quad-core 2.8GHz, four thread Intel Core i5-5575R and range up to $623 for the top of the line, quad-core 2.9GHz, eight thread Core i7-5950HQ.

All of the new processors come with Intel Iris Pro Graphics, and are designed for gaming and creating stuff on the go. Intel is promising that the new Iris integrated graphics engine will match the performance of 80 per cent of the discrete graphics cards on the market today.
