This Feather Is Actually Made Up Of Thousands Of Naked Human Bodies

It may not look like it but the image of a feather you see above is actually comprised of thousands and thousands of naked human bodies. Seriously, look at the up-close shots of the feather below, and you’ll see bodies laid out holding each other to form each string.

Pointed out by MyModernMet, the photo was made by artist Angelo Musco. He shot photos of dozens of live models in strategic poses and then stitched them together in Photoshop. He describes the project:

In the AVES Series the images are minimal and restrained on the surface but complex, poetic and compelling just below the surface. The images are presented lightly floating on the air or gently falling downward, a frozen dance, a silent musical bridge, an ongoing paradox of lightness.

Musco’s pieces will be shown at The MAYFAIR Exhibition at Lyons Wier Gallery in New York until May 23, 2015.
