19 Things I’m Dying To Carbonate With SodaStream’s Magical New Machine

Being able to carbonate water in your own home is awesome. Not being able to inject the same magic bubbles into every other liquid you can get your hands on? That’s a drag. But no longer! The SodaStream Mix is a new machine that can bubblify non-water. Are you quaking with glee yet? I know I am.

Before you get too too excited, there are a few catches. First, the Mix doesn’t actually come out until 2016. Second, there’s no price yet, and considering that water-only SodaStreams already get up to the $US250 range, there’s a good chance this will be prohibitively expensive for normies with a bubble fetish.

Still! I want one of these so bad. Not only for carbonating alcoholic cocktails and liquor — the primary use-case that SodaStream seems to be pushing — but also trying to SodaStream everything else. It seems like the Mix may be initially chained to carbonating only specific things based on pre-programmed recipes for cocktails in some dumb app, but somebody’s gotta jailbreak this thing, right?

Here’s my todo list for when they do:

  • Hot chocolate
  • Hi-C Ecto-Cooler
  • A whole litre of 5 Hour Energys
  • Tomato juice
  • Pickle juice
  • Mustard
  • Soy sauce
  • Coffee
  • Flat soda
  • Carbonated soda
  • Flat beer
  • Carbonated beer
  • Soup (Clam Chowder?)
  • Milk
  • Spit
  • PEE?!
  • Blood
  • Tears
  • Milkshakes!
