Apple Store's New Credit Card Tech Is Its Most Reliable Yet

Because it was invented some time in the 1940s. In the wake of what appears to be a global iTunes/App Store outage, Apple Store employees (at least those in the UK, where this picture was taken) are resorting to some severely old school methods of payment.

Is that apple pay? Man, that's going to add some bulk to the watch....

Im shocked they actually had them in stock. Someone actually went "you know, there's a good chance our credit facilities will fail and we need to fall back to something. Someone get some clackers".

Odds are most of the geniuses have never seen one. It would be like the scene with the monolith in 2000.

      "Where's the airport button?"

Every smart retailer has them - even taxis

Admittedly Im not a big shopper, but Ive never seen my cards used on a clacker when there's been credit problems...

They're standard issue from the bank for anyone with creidt card facilities in case of power outage etc.
